Barbara Jean White, 56, daughter of Vadola Marie Overton Martin and the late Elmer Martin, was born in Bloomfield, Mo., April 2, 1953. She passed away Thursday, Oct. 8, 2009, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. Ms. White lived most of her life in Puxico, Mo., graduating from Puxico High School in 1971. She lived in Sedgewickville, Mo., the past 21 years...

Barbara Jean White, 56, daughter of Vadola Marie Overton Martin and the late Elmer Martin, was born in Bloomfield, Mo., April 2, 1953. She passed away Thursday, Oct. 8, 2009, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Ms. White lived most of her life in Puxico, Mo., graduating from Puxico High School in 1971. She lived in Sedgewickville, Mo., the past 21 years.

She attended Life Chapel Assembly Church in Puxico, Mo. She was a secretary for Advance Pest Control.

Surviving are two daughters, Kayla Groves of Sedgewickville, Shawna Britt of Jackson; three grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; a great-stepgranddaughter; seven brothers, Gordon Martin of Wentzville, Mo., Ron Martin of Dexter, Mo., Duane Martin of St. Robert, Mo., Gary Martin of Millersville, Tony Martin of Cape Girardeau, Roger and Randy Martin of Puxico; three sisters, Gloria Massey of Sedgewickville, Priscilla Hull of Old Appleton, Mo., Lynetta Baldwin of Frontenac, Mo.; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Elmer Martin, and a nephew, Eric Martin.

Friends may call Sundayafter 5 p.m. at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico.

Graveside service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Rock Point Cemetery near Bloomfield, with the Rev. Mike Huffman of Jackson officiating.
