Barbara Louise Webb White, 77, of Hazelwood, formerly of East Prairie, died Wednesday, Jan. 8, 1998, at DePaul Hospital in St. Louis.
She was born June 29, 1920, in Bardwell, Ky., daughter of William Gobel and Irene Amanda Franks Webb. She married Joe Taylor White on June 30, 1940. He died Feb. 3, 1991.
She had lived in Hazelwood for the last four years after moving from East Prairie. She taught school in the Mounds community, near East Prairie, for several years. She was a member of the Nelson United Methodist Church in East Prairie.
Survivors include three sons, Clifton White of Columbia, Benjamin T. White of St. Louis and Warren White of East Prairie; four daughters, Virginia Pohlmann of Hazelwood, Diane Kiahara of Santa Clara, Calif., Penny Wright of Redlands, Calif., and Theresa Neidert of St. Peters; a brother, William Gobel Webb Jr. of Cameron; a sister, Marcella Ferrario of Trenton, Ill.; 17 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a son.
Visitation will be today after 5 p.m. at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Brother Jerry Willer officiating. Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.
