She was born June 20, 1931, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of the late Ralph and Maxine Deimund. WINCHESTER, Va. — Barbara Deimund Swink, 85, of Winchester passed away peacefully Friday, Nov. 4, 2016, in her home.

She was born June 20, 1931, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of the late Ralph and Maxine Deimund.

Barbara was a woman of rare talent, special warmth and vast wisdom, who will be missed by all those whose lives she touched.

For 45 years, Barbara honed her directional skills while delighting audiences at the Winchester Little Theatre. Previously, she worked as a high-school English, speech and drama teacher, and as managing director of Wayside Theatre.

Barbara leaves behind her loving children, Christy S. Oseth and Stuart W. Swink; grandchildren, Thomas Schwietz, Allison Schwietz and Joshua Swink; siblings, Marjorie George, Keith Deimund, Janet Pohl and Rodger Deimund; as well as innumerable beloved friends and family members.

She was preceded in death by husband, Boyd G. Headley Jr.; and son, Steven D. Swink.

A memorial celebration will be at a future time.
