SIKESTON, Mo. -- Barbara Lee Tackitt Rigsby, 72, of Sikeston died Wednesday, May 15, 2002, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born April 5, 1930, in Newton, Ill., daughter of Burriss Everett and Myrna Lee Tackitt. She and Maurice Laverne "Vern" Rigsby were married Oct. 8, 1948, in Angola, Ind.
Mrs. Rigsby moved to Sikeston eight years ago from Warner Robins, Ga., and Dexter, Mo. She formerly owned Dexter 5 & 10 Store and a store at Bloomfield, Mo. She was also a beautician. Mrs. Rigsby was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and Bootheel Regional Art Guild.
Survivors include her husband; a son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Tammy Rigsby of Anderson, S.C.; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Roger Suedekum of Cape Girardeau; four grandchildren, Jamie Suedekum and Kelly Suedekum of Cape Girardeau, Rodney and wife Erica Rigsby and Brant Rigsby of Anderson.
Friends may call at Blanchard Funeral Chapel from 5 to 7 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the chapel, with the Rev. Matthew Butrum, pastor of New Hope Baptist Church, officiating. Assisting will be the Rev. Marvin Butrum. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.
