Barbara Ann Musgraves, 67, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, April 27, 2005, at her home after a long battle with cancer.

She was born Feb. 1, 1938, in Risco, Mo., daughter of Clyde and Hazel Furrow Horner. She and Jimmy Ray Musgraves were married June 3, 1956, at Bloomfield, Mo. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Barbara graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1957. She worked at Sears in Cape Girardeau 32 years, retiring in 2000.

She was a charter member of La Croix United Methodist Church, where she was actively involved in many ministries, as well as the Small Group Ministry, which she loved.

Barbara enjoyed being leader of Brownie and Girl Scouts, bowling in a league 20 years, playing bridge, and hitting the road in their RV.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Cindy Ryan of Fenton, Mo., Tennie Rust of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Mollie Wheeler of Cape Girardeau, Regina Lang of Eureka, Mo.; four brothers, Lex Horner of Dexter, Mo., Jerry and Joel Horner of High Ridge, Mo., and Allen Horner of Imperial, Mo.

She is also survived by five grandchildren, Blake and Brittany Ryan, and Ashley, Tanner and Bailey Rust.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at La Croix United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Ron Watts officiating. Resting place is Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, where a committal service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday.
