Barbara Lafferty-Green

Barbara Lafferty-Green, 60, of Jackson passed away Friday, Jan. 25, 2008, at her home.

She was born Feb. 5, 1947, in Baltimore, daughter of John Weldon and Violet Grishom Lafferty. She and Carl Green were married June 26, 1965, in Oxly, Mo.

Carl and Barbara resided in Jackson for 32 years. She attended school in Naylor, Mo., and her junior and senior year in O'Fallon, Mo. She worked at the former LeeRowan plant in Jackson for 18 years; retiring in 2004. Barbara cared for children from her home for many years and was of the Baptist faith.

Loving survivors include her husband of 42 years; a daughter, Heather Schoolfield; mother, Violet Lafferty, all of Jackson; brother, John (Dianne) Lafferty of Huntsville, Ala.; and two granddaughters, Meagan Pulliam and Madison Schoolfield, both of Jackson.

Also surviving is a nephew, Michael (Hillary) Lafferty of Fayetteville, Tenn.; a niece, Trashea (Jeff) Renfro, two great-nieces, McKinzie and Amber Renfro, and a great-nephew, Luke Renfro, all of Lawrenceburg, Tenn.; her father and mother-in-law, Howard and Dorothy Green of Naylor, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her father, John W. Lafferty.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and at 9:30 a.m. Monday until services begin at 11:30 a.m. at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson, with the Rev. Carter Frey officiating.

Interment will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
