Barbara Jane Hoelscher, 84, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, Oct. 7, 1999, at Chateau Girardeau Health Center. She was born Nov. 13, 1914, in Corning, Ark., daughter of John Curtis and Maude Oliver Black. She and Wilfred F. Hoelscher were married Aug. 23, 1938, in Granite City, Ill. He died Sept. 30, 1989...

Barbara Jane Hoelscher, 84, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, Oct. 7, 1999, at Chateau Girardeau Health Center.

She was born Nov. 13, 1914, in Corning, Ark., daughter of John Curtis and Maude Oliver Black. She and Wilfred F. Hoelscher were married Aug. 23, 1938, in Granite City, Ill. He died Sept. 30, 1989.

Hoelscher moved to Cape Girardeau in 1986 from St. Louis. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include two sons, Wilfred Hoelscher II of South Carolina, John Hoelscher of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a daughter, Ellen Clare Vaughan of Dexter; two sisters, Mary Damitz of Cape Girardeau, Joanna Block of Denver, Colo.; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter and a sister.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 2-3 p.m. Sunday.

Funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the chapel, with the Rev. Miles White officiating. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Granite City.
