Barbara Daniel, daughter of the late Charles and Ora Traylor Smith, was born May 8, 1935, at Des Arc, Arkansas, and departed this life at her daughter's home in Cape Girardeau on Wednesday, May 20, 2020, at the age of 85.

On June 1, 1953, she was united in marriage to Huey Bernard Daniel in Winter Haven, Florida. He preceded her in death in 2008.

Barbara was a loving housewife, a member of Lynwood Baptist Church and a former member of Commerce Baptist Church. In her later years, Barbara was known as "The Cake Lady" at River Ridge Winery, where she formed many friendships.

Survivors include a son, David (JulieAnn) Daniel of Scott City; daughters, Becky (Clyde) Ledbetter of Cape Girardeau and Cynthia Milam of Benton, Missouri; grandchildren, Robert (Mary Beth) Milam of Benton, Amber (Jerry) Stuppy of Jackson, Ginger (Randy) Earnest of Jackson, Danielle (Nathan) Littlepage of Winter Haven, Matthew Simms of Benton and Shawn (Shannon) Daniel of Peachtree City, Georgia; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

A private graveside service for family only will be held Friday at Oakdale Cemetery in Commerce, Missouri, with the Rev. David Thompson officiating. Interment will follow. Memorial service will be held at a later date.

The family has requested memorial donations be made to Southeast Hospice, 10 Doctors' Park, Cape Girardeau, MO 63703.
