Barbara Coleson

OLMSTED, Ill. — Barbara Coleson, 77, of Olmsted died at 12:55 p.m. Thursday, March 23, 2017, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Dec. 8, 1939, in Thebes, Illinois, the daughter of Melvin and Nellie Bailey Henderson. She married James Coleson, and he preceded her in death Nov. 5, 2010.

Barbara was a member of Tamms Community Church.

She is survived by her daughters, Debbie Smith of Mounds, Illinois, and Vickie Barnes of Simms, Texas; a son, Carl Coleson of Mounds; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister, Sharon Ivy of Villa Ridge, Illinois; brothers, Paul Henderson of America, Illinois, Benny Henderson of Mounds, Wayne Henderson of Villa Ridge and Kenny Henderson of Mounds; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter, Beverly Wilson; a sister, Lily Modglin; and brothers, Vernon Henderson and Melvin Henderson.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms.

The funeral service for Barbara Coleson will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bruce Clubb officiating. Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Thebes.
