SCOTT CITY -- Avery Claude Dees, 67, of Scott City died Sunday, April 21, 1996, at his home.
He was born May 23, 1928, in Jackson, the son of Claude and Emma Gobble Dees. He married Dorothy Ann Halter on June 17, 1950, in Chaffee. She survives.
He was retired from the highway construction business and had worked for P.R.I. Asphalt in Cape Girardeau. He was an avid fisherman and served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Also surviving are three sons, Larry and Tom Dees, both of Scott City, and Anthony Dees of Chaffee; three daughters, Diane Schott of Kennett, and Debbie Dees and Joyce Weatherspoon, both of Scott City; a sister, Terry Ford of Cape Girardeau; 12 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Visitation will be at 4 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Scott City. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel, with the Revs. Rennie Phillips and Pat Wissman officiating.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Scott City.
