Averie Lynn Williams, age 6, went to Heaven on Sunday, Nov. 29, 2020, at 8:53 p.m. at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born June 18, 2014. She was the precious daughter of Elliott and Carrie Williams, and little sister to Eli and Ashton Williams, all of Cape Girardeau.
Averie was a sweet and wise soul with a talent for drawing and painting from memory. Some of her favorite things were horses, unicorns, princesses, and angels. Her favorite and most loved stuffed animal was Snoopy, who she took everywhere since she was a baby. She enjoyed going to the beach, spending time at the lake, going to school, play dates with her friends and spending time with her big brother and sister. One of her most memorable times was a family trip to Walt Disney World.
Averie was a spiritual child who loved Jesus. She began her walk in faith along with her church family at LaCroix United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau. Although Averie struggled from birth with health issues related to Marfan Syndrome, she faced those issues with strength and grace and was an inspiration to all who knew her. She was very independent and outgoing and never allowed her struggles to compromise her sweet spirit. Wise beyond her years, she touched so many lives and was deeply loved by all who knew her. Our hearts are forever broken until we see her again.
In addition to her parents and siblings, Averie is survived by her maternal grandmother, Patricia Carr of Jackson; paternal grandparents, David and Debbie Williams of Charleston, Missouri; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.
She is preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Ralph Reece Carr.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at LaCroix United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau.
A private celebration of her life will be held Saturday at the church with the Rev. Ron Watts officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in memory of Averie to the Marfan Foundation, 22 Manhasset Ave., Port Washington, NY 11050; www.marfan.org\donate or 800-8-MARFAN, ext. 126.
Ford and Sons Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau is in charge of arrangements.
Online condolences may be made at www.fordandsonsfuneralhome.com.
