Ava Jeanette Wright, 84, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Kennett, Mo., died Friday, Oct. 7, 2005, at Ratliff Care Center.
She was born March 23, 1921, in Piggott, Ark., daughter of E.L. and Nancy Pearl Dyer Baker. She and McKinley Wright Jr. were married Oct. 25, 1941. He died Nov. 1, 1992.
Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Lester and husband Doug of Cape Girardeau; a sister-in-law, Joan Reagan of Prague, Okla.; three grandchildren, Lee Lester and wife Ginny of St. Charles, Mo., Lynn Lester and wife Rebecca of Cape Girardeau, Lori Johnson and husband Philip of O'Fallon, Mo.; and three great-grandchildren; Alec McKinley Lester, Virginia Caroline Lester, and Nolan James Johnson.
She was preceded in death by parents, husband, and six sisters, Roxie Thompson, Lockie Garner, Lubie Adams, Neoma Bare, Elacy Wright and Lily Hardin.
The funeral was held Monday at McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett. Spencer Furby and Brian McAlister officiated. Burial was in Memorial Gardens in Kennett.
