SIKESTON, Mo. -- Mattie Auvine Lynxwiler, 84, of Sikeston died Monday, Jan. 10, 2005, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Dec. 4, 1920, in Loretta, Tenn., daughter of James C. and Donie Ezell Littrell. She and Herbert Sylvester Lynxwiler were married in December 1937. He died Oct. 20, 1981.
Lynxwiler was a retired employee of the state of Missouri. She had also worked at International Shoe Co. in Sikeston, with the lunch program at Sikeston School District, and at Missouri Delta Medical Center. She was a member of North Acres General Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Charles Lynxwiler of Paducah, Ky., Larry Lynxwiler of New Madrid, Mo.; four sisters, Clera Beeson, Lorene Martin and Rachel Thompson, all of Sikeston, Vela Nolan of Pensacola, Fla.; three grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and a granddaughter.
Friends may call at Ponder Funeral Home after 5 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at North Acres General Baptist Church, with the Revs. Steve Tippen and Jimmy Trotter officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in New Madrid.
