IRONTON -- Augusta Pearl Pollock, 88, of Ironton died June 4, 1993, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
She was born Aug. 12, 1904, in Linton, Ind., to Lorenzo Dow Helms and Flora Serilda Brendel Helms. They preceded her in death.
On June 13, 1929, she married James Creighton Pollock. He preceded her in death on June 27, 1977.
She was a homemaker and taught school for six years in Ironton and Vanduser.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ironton, and secretary of T.E.L. Class for more than 25 years.
She is survived by three daughters, Joan Mattingly of Newton, Iowa, Nellie McGill of Cape Girardeau and Bonnie Martin of Lithonia, Ga; one son, James Pollock of Ironton; two sisters, Lexie Burke and Beauton Ray, both of Sikeston; 15 grandchilden and 9 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held June 6 at the First Baptist Church in Ironton with the Rev. Keith Huffman officiating. Burial was in the K of P Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of Bryson Funeral Home.
