SIKESTON -- Funeral service for Atlas Hatley Jr. of Sikeston will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Shady Acres Church of Christ. Pat Hogan and the Rev. Gordon Adank will officiate, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel after 5 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until noon Saturday.
Hatley, 70 years old, died Wednesday, March 13, 1991, at Missouri Delta Medical Center Emergency Room.
He was born April 30, 1920, in Maynard, Ark., son of Atlas and Tura Phipps Hatley Sr. He and the former Maggie Hill were married June 20, 1943, at Sikeston.
Hatley was a former security guard at Missouri Delta Medical Center and Noranda Aluminum, and was a route salesman 25 years with Reiss Dairy Co. He also drove a bus for Sikeston Public Schools several years.
He was an umpire with Sikeston Little League baseball program from 1955-58, and was a member of Shady Acres Church.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Glenn Hatley of Bertrand, Wayne Hatley of Ft. Worth, Tex.; a daughter, Sharon Jordan of Sikeston; three brothers, Rhea Hatley of St. Louis, James Hatley of Grapevine, Tex., Tom Hatley of Hurst, Tex.; four sisters, Naomi McDonough of Morley, Lura Rieves of Colorado Springs, Colo., Polley Johnson of Ft. Worth, Marceline Penrose of Chaffee; five granddaughters, and a great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
