SIKESTON -- Funeral for Mildred Atlanta Bennett of Sikeston will be held at 11 a.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Rufus McLean will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Bennett, 86, died Sunday, Nov. 28, 1999, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 10, 1913, in Penny, Ky., daughter of Walter and Eva Bynum Bridges. She and Henry J. Bennett Sr. were married Oct. 24, 1935. He died Sept. 26, 1966.
Bennett had been a licensed practical nurse and evening charge nurse at Missouri Delta Medical Center. She also had worked at Sikeston Convalescent Center. She was a member of Hunter Memorial First Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include a son, Henry "Jim" Bennett Jr. of Sikeston; a daughter, Millie Nauman of Sikeston; a sister, Waleva McFerron of San Leandro, Calif.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, four sisters and a great-grandson.
