Ashley Marie Howard, 22, of Jackson passed away Sunday, Jan. 12, 2020.
She was born Oct. 25, 1997, in Salt Lake City. She was the daughter of Cecil and Vicki Lopas Smith. She and Zachary Howard were married Oct. 7, 2018, in Sanford, Florida.
Ashley worked at the AT&T call center as a sales representative. She enjoyed playing pool, hanging out with friends and family, and loved to decorate. She was a "doer" and had a giving heart. Her family was very important to her.
Loving survivors include her husband, Zachary Howard of Jackson; parents, Cecil and Vicki Smith of Sanford; sister, Gabriell Smith; brothers, Joshua and Ethan Smith; maternal grandmothers, Myrna Lopas of Silt, Colorado, and Carol Lopas of Grand Junction, Colorado; paternal grandparents, Sue Fox of Sikeston, Missouri, and Dannie (Joan) Wood of Sikeston; mother-in-law, Kendra (Nelson) Lewis of Jackson; father-in-law, Robert Howard of Santa Fe, Texas; sisters-in-law, Megan (Tyler) Slinkard, Cindy Lewis and Emalee Howard; brothers-in-law, Adam Cooksey and Jake Hyde; and nieces and nephews, Jackson Smith, Grey and Beckett Slinkard, Matthew, Alyssa and Nathan Ericson, Taylor Lewis and Haley Dockins.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Charles "Chuck" Lopas, and a brother, Sean Roberts.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
A celebration of life will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Cape First Church in Cape Girardeau, with Pastor Blake Tiemann officiating.
In lieu of flowers, in Ashley's memory and her late brother, Airman 1st Class Sean Roberts, donations may be given to Gold Star Families for Peace.
