SIKESTON -- Funeral service for Arvie Vaught will be held at 2 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home. Burial will be in Dogwood Cemetery near Charleston. She was born April 6, 1905, in Newton County, Ark., daughter of James and Sarah Thomas Clayborn. She married Thurman Vaught, who died in August 1977.

Survivors include two sons, Paul Vaught of Bertrand, Billy Vaught of Sikeston; a daughter, Lotha Arthur of Sikeston; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son and two sisters.
