BENTON, Mo. -- Arvel Omer Long, 70, of Benton died Thursday, Dec. 7, 2006, at his home.
He was born Dec. 2, 1936, in Wickliffe, Ky., son of Byoma and Addie May Wilson Long. He and Doris Ann Gore were married Jan. 4, 1972, in West Lebanon, Ind.
Long was a farmer with Tongate Farms in Sikeston, Mo. He attended Unity Baptist Church in Benton.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Arvel Long of Benton; three brothers, Harry Quertermous of Cape Girardeau, Bobby Long of Marshall, Mo., Virgil Long of Benton; and a sister, Carolyn Butrum of Sikeston.
He was preceded in death by two brothers.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Benton from noon to service time Sunday.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the chapel, with the Rev. Dale Huff officiating. Burial will be in Unity Baptist Cemetery.
