ARTHUR SIMPSON

LAKELAND, Fla. Arthur "Pete" Simpson, 76, formerly of Cape Girardeau, died at the Lakeland, Fla. Convalescent Center on Jan. 12, 1993.

He was born Dec. 29, 1916 in Cape Girardeau, son of Arthur and May Underwood Simpson.

He worked for General Motors in Michigan until he retired. He lived at Whitewater until moving to Florida eight years ago.

He was a member of the Heritage Baptist Church in Lakeland.

He is survived by his wife, Erma Simpson, of Lakeland; two daughters, Janet Kreher of Oak Brook, Ill. and Carolyn Simpson, Lakeland; a brother, Lewis Simpson of Dexter; four sisters, June Seymour of St. Louis; Betty Cato of Marquand, Ruth Pulliam and Pauline Thornton, both of Cape Girardeau; a half-sister, Sandy Simpson of Paragould, Ark.; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers.

Services were held Jan. 15, 1993 in Lakeland, with burial in Lakeland Memorial Cemetery.
