Arthur Owens

Arthur Lee "Archie" Owens, 84, of Cape Girardeau, died Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at Life Care Center of Cape Girardeau.

He was born Aug. 20, 1934, in East Prairie, Missouri, to Arthur R. and Erma Wamble Owens. He and Shirley Williams were united in marriage Jan. 20, 1955.

Arthur proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley, of Cape Girardeau; son, Timothy D. Owens of St. Louis; sister-in-law, Sheila (Dr. Larry) Bohannon of Sikeston, Missouri; two nephews, Chris Bohannon of Cape Girardeau and Clinton Bohannon of St. Louis; and other relatives and friends.

Cremation rites will be accorded. Inurnment, with military honors, will take place at 2 p.m. Monday at Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Crain Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cape Girardeau is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions can be made to American Cancer Society-Hope Lodge Project and will be accepted at the funeral home.
