ANNA, Ill. -- Arthur Nobles, 87, of Anna died Wednesday, Oct. 16, 1996, at Iowa Masonic Nursing Home in Bettendorf.
He was born May 26, 1909, at Buncombe, son of Charles David and Hattie Nell Milburn Nobles. He and Leona Reischauer were married Aug. 5, 1931, at Jonesboro. She died Nov. 15, 1993.
Nobles was a teacher in Michigan more than 33 years. He was a member of Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church in Anna, Anna Masonic Lodge 520 AF&AM, University of Iowa Alumni Association, and Michigan Education Association. Nobles was a graduate of Southern Illinois University.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Roth of Fairfax, Va., Jo Ann Crane of Davenport, Iowa; and five grandchildren.
Friends may call at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna from 5-8 p.m. Saturday. Masonic service will be at 7:30.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Rick Hertenstein and Bill Darnell officiating. Burial will be in Vienna Fraternal Cemetery at Vienna.
