Arthur Ray Graham, 67, of Asheville, N.C., died Wednesday, May 16, 2007, at Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals.
He was born in Advance, Mo., son of Lawrence Edgar and Anna Caroline Leazenby Graham. He grew up in Cape Girardeau, and had resided in Jacksonville, Fla., many years prior to moving to Asheville in February 2004.
He retired in 1976 following 20 years of service in the U.S. Navy, and in 1998 following 22 years of service at the Naval Air Station in Mayport, Fla.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda; two daughters, Christine Hill of Eddyville, Ky., Lori Reed of Longlois, Ontario, Canada; two sons, Scott Reed of St. Augustine, Fla., Steven Reed of Orange Park, Fla.; a sister, Donna Brault of Kansas City, Mo.; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, an infant brother and a grandson. Friends may call from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home in Asheville.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Enoch G. Ball Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Buncombe County Veterans Memorial Team.
