Arthur Donald Boyd, 88, of Cape Girardeau passed away Thursday, Dec. 19, 2019, at Life Care Center. He was born March 7, 1931, in Harrisburg, Illinois, the son of Arthur K. and Lena Bramlet Boyd. He and Dorothy Louise Wyatt were united in marriage Jan. 10, 1990, and she passed away Feb. 3, 2010...

Arthur Donald Boyd, 88, of Cape Girardeau passed away Thursday, Dec. 19, 2019, at Life Care Center.

He was born March 7, 1931, in Harrisburg, Illinois, the son of Arthur K. and Lena Bramlet Boyd. He and Dorothy Louise Wyatt were united in marriage Jan. 10, 1990, and she passed away Feb. 3, 2010.

Arthur worked for the Social Security Administration as a claims representative. He was a member of the Bethany Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Air Force.

Survivors include his children, Charles (Sylvia) Boyd of Traskwood, Arkansas, Linda (Steve) Meadows of Nixa, Missouri, Scott Boyd of Hartsville, Missouri, and Martha (Brad) Golden of Cape Girardeau; brother, Harry (Dorothy) Boyd of Marion, Illinois; grandchildren, Sarah (Paul) LeClercq, Rebekah (David) Prince, Timothy Boyd, Jonathan (Renee) Boyd, Rachel (Mikey) Dailey, Kyle (Shaelyne) Meadows, Carrie (Justin) Cain and Benjamin Golden; and 21 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Louise, and parents.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at Bethany Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the church, with Dr. Shawn Wasson officiating. Burial will be at Grassy Friendship Cemetery in Grassy, Missouri.

In lieu of flowers, donations are requested for Bethany Baptist Church or Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Liley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
