Arthur Adams Arthur S. "Bud" Adams, 85, of Gordonville died on Friday, June 5, 2009, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. He was born Oct. 14, 1923, in Natchitoches Parish, La., son of Edna Adams. Arthur S. "Bud" Adams, 85, of Gordonville died on Friday, June 5, 2009, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Oct. 14, 1923, in Natchitoches Parish, La., son of Edna Adams. He moved to Missouri as a young man and married the former Alma Faye Welker in January 1948 in Piggott, Ark. She died Aug. 2, 1988.

Adams was employed by Missouri Dry Dock as a welder for 44 years.

After retiring, Adams had a small rabbit farm.

Survivors include a son, Randy Adams of Cape Girardeau; daughter, Mary (Jack) Hengst of Cape Girardeau; brothers, C.Y. Adams, Herschel Adams, Drew Adams, Albert Adams and Leonard Earl Adams; sisters Etter Guy and Lessie Adams, all from Louisiana; seven grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife and two sons, Arthur Ray Adams on Dec. 4, 1966, and Robert L. Adams on Feb. 16, 1996.

Private visitation and funeral will be held at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
