MORLEY -- Morley Mayor Artenis Segraves, 74, of Morley died Wednesday, June 16, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. She was born April 26, 1925, in Catalpa, Ark., daughter of T.E. and Maude Dewberry McMillan. She and G.R. Segraves were married Nov. 19, 1942. He died Dec. 11, 1987...

MORLEY -- Morley Mayor Artenis Segraves, 74, of Morley died Wednesday, June 16, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born April 26, 1925, in Catalpa, Ark., daughter of T.E. and Maude Dewberry McMillan. She and G.R. Segraves were married Nov. 19, 1942. He died Dec. 11, 1987.

Segraves was a hairdresser 25 years at Segraves Beauty Salon in Lakeville, Ind.

She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Oran, member and past president of Grand Aerie Fraternal Order of Eagles 3319 in Sikeston, and VFW Auxiliary to Post 5368 at Morley. She also held a district office in the Eagles.

Survivors include a son, Robert Segraves of Walkerton, Ind.; two brothers, Kemit McMillan of Springfield, Dillon McMillan of San Diego, Calif.; three sisters, Edith Maness of Oran, Doris Blount of Walkerton, Jewell Smiddy of Springfield; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, a brother, and a grandson.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran after 5 p.m. Saturday.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the chapel, with the Rev. Bennie Wilsey officiating. Burial will be in New Morley Cemetery.
