Artelia Borgmann, 83, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Feb. 20, 2004, at Life Care Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Aug. 10, 1920, in Hornwall, Tenn., to the late Jasper and Eveline Mathis Skelton. The family moved to Missouri, and she attended Friendship School in Portageville, Mo., for eight years.

She first married Earl Rooker in 1938 at Portageville. He preceded her in death in December 2001. She married Alwin Borgmann in 1955 at Beaufort, Mo. He preceded her in death in 1978. She was of the Pentecostal faith.

Survivors include a son, Ronnie E. Rooker of Phnom Penh, Cambodia, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Alma and Myrie Lee, and 10 brothers, Richard, Henry, Wilburn "Wink," Ralph "Joe," Manford "Tom," Luther "Skinny," Tinsley, and three others.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Ford & Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Cy Smith officiating. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery in Steele, Mo.
