BERTRAND -- Arnold Ray Kidd, 69, of Bertrand died Wednesday, March 15, 2000, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
He was born May 1, 1930, in Mississippi County, son of Cecil B. and Nellie Forsythe Kidd. He and Edna Warren were married March 8, 1963.
Kidd was a lifelong resident of Mississippi County. He served in the U.S. Navy 23 years, retiring as chief petty officer. He was a veteran of the Korean War. He later farmed.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Colin and Byron Kidd of Sikeston, Brian Neal of Philadelphia, Pa.; five daughters, Ruth Cox of Atlanta, Ga., Helen George of Sikeston, Sandy Gross of East Prairie, Georgeann Kennedy of Woodlyn, Pa., Dorothy Taggart of Chula Vista, Calif.; three sisters, Mary Williford of Bardwell, Ky., Kathryn Johnson of Calvert City, Ky., Garnett Hinch of St. Louis; 19 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, a granddaughter, a sister, and three brothers.
Friends may call at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Dennis Gross officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
