SIKESTON, Mo. -- Armetha A. Taylor, 64, of St. Charles, Mo., and formerly of Morehouse, Mo., died Friday, Aug. 25, 2000, at St. Joseph's Healthcare Center in St. Charles.
She was born Dec. 2, 1935, in Sikeston, daughter of Herman and Leota Stark Ray.
Taylor was an elementary school teacher for 25 years at Southeast Elementary School in Sikeston and also worked as a librarian at both Southeast and Southwest elementary schools in Sikeston.
She was a member of the Missouri State Teacher's Association and a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Sikeston. She had been a church organist and pianist. She also taught Sunday school for many years.
Survivors include one son, Donny Taylor of South Africa; one daughter, Cindy Boschert of St. Charles; one brother, Tom Ray of Sikeston; and three sisters, Tonnie Lambert of Houston, Texas, Teresa McGill of Bertrand, Mo., and Brenda Pinkley of Malden, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Richard Ray; and her stepmother, Dixie Ray.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.
Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Kelley Grubbs officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
