CHARLESTON -- Arliler Gater, 73, of Charleston, died Friday, Oct. 9, 1992, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
She was born Nov. 17, 1918, in Water Valley, Miss., daughter of Robert and Lottie Green Yarber. She married Webster Gater, who died Aug. 7, 1963.
Gater had worked at Sheffit's Nursing Home, and was a member of Green Memorial Church of God in Christ Church at Sikeston.
Survivors include nine sons, B.B. and John Gater of Oxford, Miss., Ezell Ferguson of Cape Girardeau, Jerry and Moses Gater of Charleston, Jethro Gater of Sikeston, Solomon Ferguson of St. Louis, Webster and Willie Gater of Chicago; four daughters, Lottie Baker of St. Louis, Arliler Bates of Kansas City, Martha Carothers of Water Valley, Mary Carothers of Chicago.
Also surviving are seven brothers, Aaron, Paul, R.V. and Wiley Yarber of Sikeston, David Yarber of Gary, Ind., Isaac Yarber of Atlanta, Ga., Robert Yarber of Burlington, Iowa; three sisters, Ella Sumlin of Sikeston, Pinealla Cooper of Madison, Ill., Sammie Yarber of St. Louis; 52 grandchildren, and 32 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Green Memorial Church. Bishop Charlie Green will officiate, with burial in Smith West End Cemetery at Sikeston.
Friends may call at Sparks Funeral Home from 7-8 p.m. Thursday.
