Arlene L. Phelps, 86, of Granite City, Ill., formerly of Advance, died Friday, Feb. 19, 1993 at her home. She was born Aug. 21, 1906 at Marshall, Ill., daughter of Williams and Josephine Glover Simmers. She married Warren Phelps on Mar. 21, 1925 at Greenbrier,Mo. He preceded her in death on Feb. 18, 1981...

Arlene L. Phelps, 86, of Granite City, Ill., formerly of Advance, died Friday, Feb. 19, 1993 at her home.

She was born Aug. 21, 1906 at Marshall, Ill., daughter of Williams and Josephine Glover Simmers.

She married Warren Phelps on Mar. 21, 1925 at Greenbrier,Mo. He preceded her in death on Feb. 18, 1981.

She is survived by sons, Virgil Phelps, Granite City, Ill., and Billy Dewane Phelps, New Market, Va.; a step-son, Raymond Phelps, Bell City; daughter, Louise McKinnon, Granite City; brother, Charles Simmer of Michigan; a sister,. Annie Scowden, Sturdivant, Mo.; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Service will be held Monday at 1:30 at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance, with the Rev. Arvil Huffman officiating. Burial will be in Bollinger County Memorial Park.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. today.
