Argyle R. Townswick, 81, of Omaha, Neb., died Saturday, June 26, 1999, at Methodist Hospital in Omaha.
He was born Oct. 17, 1917, at Hardy, Iowa, son of Samuel C. and Dania Espe Townswick.
He and Genevieve Holcombe were married Jan. 21, 1944, at Ardmore, Okla.
Townswick was a captain in the U.S. Air Force and served during World War II. He was of the Lutheran faith.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Gary Townswick of LaVista, Neb.; a daughter, Jane Rene' Townswick of Schnecksville, Pa.; a brother, Stanley C. Townswick of Decorah, Iowa; two sisters, Thelma Townswick of Hardy, Iowa and Opal Shipman of Dakota City, Iowa; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the chapel. The Rev. Paul Short will officiate, with burial in Hobbs Chapel Cemetery.
