ARDELL J. ERWIN

PERRYVILLE -- Ardell J. "Archie" Erwin, 75, of Perryville died June 14, 1995, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Sept. 22, 1919, in Perry County, the son of Martin L. and Lorene Vessels Erwin. He married Zelma E. Preston on July 18, 1942.

Erwin was retired from the International Shoe Co. and the maintenance department at Perry County Memorial Hospital. He was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville and Holy Name Society.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Preston A. Erwin Sr. of Perryville; two daughters, Sharon Foster and Joan Pridemore of Perryville; two brothers, Earl Erwin and Birdell Erwin of Farmington; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Larry Erwin, and two brothers.

Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday and 6:30 to 8:45 a.m. Saturday at Young & Sons Chapel in Perryville. A parish wake will be at 7 p.m. Friday.

The funeral Mass will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, with the Rev. Kevin Fausz officiating. Burial will follow in the family cemetery.
