CHARLESTON -- Archie Forbey, 78, of Charleston died Saturday, Feb. 4, 1995, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
He was born Aug. 6, 1916, in Charleston, the son of the late Arch and Ora Locker Forbey. On Oct. 2, 1943, he married Pearl Mae Ervin.
He lived in Charleston his entire life, where he was a member of the Church of the Nazarene. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and had been employed by the Brown Shoe Company until his retirement in 1978.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Jim Forbey of Bloomfield; a daughter, Gwen Phenicie of Sikeston; a brother, Dick Forbey of Charleston; three sisters, Lucille Hockersmith and Maxine Finley, both of East Prairie, and Ruth Grimwood of Aurora, Ore.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Four brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Charleston Church of the Nazarene. The Rev. Gerald Beam and the Rev. Howard Welches will officiate, and burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Charleston.
