ANNA, Ill. -- Arch E. Williams, 94, of Anna, died Tuesday, Aug. 11, 1992, at Union County Hospital.
He was born Dec. 8, 1897, at Puxico, son of William and Sarah Williams. He first married Margie E. Andrews Aug. 31, 1917, at Puxico. She died Feb. 10, 1978. He later married Ruth Barnhart Jan. 31, 1984, at Wolf Lake.
Williams was a retired farmer, and custodian at Shawnee High School. He was a member of Wolf Lake Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Gene Williams of Wolf Lake; two daughters, Virginia Otten of Jonesboro, Margaret Rogers of Carbondale; two stepsons, Bill Barnhart of Marshall, Ill., Barney Barnhart of Jonesboro; two stepdaughters, Jenny Bridgeman and Pat Etherton of Anna; 19 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, daughter and granddaughter.
Friends may call at Norris and Son Funeral Home in Jonesboro after 5 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. The Rev. John Prather will officiate, with burial in Jonesboro Cemetery.
