CHAFFEE -- Anton "Tony" Hess, 76, of Chaffee died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000, at his home.
He was born Dec. 28, 1923, at Kelso, son of Anton and Mary Petz Hess. He and Jo Ann Dees were married Sept. 23, 1961.
Hess was a retired machine operator with the Florsheim Shoe Co. at Chaffee and had also retired as a maintenance man with the Chaffee Water Department. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of Chaffee VFW Post 3128.
Survivors include his wife of Chaffee; a son, Bobby Hess of Chaffee; and three sisters, Frances Hess of Scott City, Anita Gosnell of Chaffee and Mary Bess of O'Fallon, Ill.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Friends may call after 12:30 p.m. today at Amick Burnett Funeral Chapel at Chaffee.
Graveside Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Union Park Cemetery at Chaffee, with the Rev. Dean Heady officiating.
