Annie E. Huffman, 91, of Cape Girardeau, passed away Friday, July 29, 2022, at Southeast Hospital.
She was born Oct. 12, 1930, in Greenville, Mississippi, to the late Albert and Myrtle Smith Thompson. Annie married Howard C. Huffman Dec. 12, 1947, in Greenville. They shared 65 years of marriage before his passing on Jan. 5, 2013.
She enjoyed cake decorating, embroidery, making ceramic dolls, quilting and fishing with her husband.
Survivors include her children, Carolyn (Marvin Jr.) Best of Gordonville, Elaine (Greg) Atwood of Carbondale, Illinois and Steve (Trudi) Huffman of Cape Girardeau; grandchildren, Bob and Terry Lynn Best, Benjamin Justin Huffman, Amanda Huffman Basham, and Trevor Atwood; great grandchildren, Cody Lynn, Andy, and Toby Best, and Brook Basham; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Annie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Doug Huffman, two brothers, and four sisters.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Wavis Jordan officiating. Entombment will follow at Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Memorial donations may be given to Safe Harbor Animal Sanctuary.
