EAST PRAIRIE -- Annie Jewel Hicks, 76, of East Prairie died Sunday, May 17, 1998, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
She was born Nov. 29, 1921, in Mississippi County, daughter of Frank and Victoria Bass Holmes. She and Lewis G. Hicks were married May 3, 1963.
Hicks lived in Chaffee several years, moving back to East Prairie in 1991.
Survivors include her husband; three sons, James O'Connor of Anniston, Howard O'Connor of Sweetwater, Texas, Earl O'Connor of Kewanee; three daughters, Nelda Fitzgerald and Ella Cravens of Wyatt, Sally Mouser of St. Louis; two sisters, Ruby Byrd of Ramer, Tenn., Ozie Hatton of East Prairie; several stepsons and stepdaughters; 21 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, a grandson, a great-grandson, and three brothers.
Friends may call at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie after 5 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Marvin Overby officiating. Burial will be in Anniston Cemetery.
