SIKESTON -- Annette French, 92, of Sikeston died Saturday, March 6, 1999, at her home. She was born Jan. 27, 1907, in Sikeston, daughter of Frank Hardin and Alice Barnes Smith. She married Charles H. "Puffy" French, who preceded her in death. French attended Sikeston Public Schools, Lindenwood College at St. Charles, and received a bachelor of science degree in education from Southeast Missouri State University...

SIKESTON -- Annette French, 92, of Sikeston died Saturday, March 6, 1999, at her home.

She was born Jan. 27, 1907, in Sikeston, daughter of Frank Hardin and Alice Barnes Smith. She married Charles H. "Puffy" French, who preceded her in death.

French attended Sikeston Public Schools, Lindenwood College at St. Charles, and received a bachelor of science degree in education from Southeast Missouri State University.

She was a fifth grade teacher at Lee Hunter Elementary School in Sikeston 22 years. She was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church and was in charge of the primary department many years.

Survivors include a daughter, Linda Last of Wellesley, Mass.; two grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by a son and a brother.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church, with Dr. Jim Davis officiating. Private burial will be in Sikeston City Cemetery.

Friends may call at the church Wednesday from 1 p.m. until service time.

Nunnelee Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
