CARTHAGE, Texas -- Funeral services for Anna Lou Rebert, 90, of Carthage will be held at 2 p.m. today at the Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Freddy Mason officiating. Burial will follow in the Six Mile Cemetery. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Anna Lou Rebert went to be with her Lord on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016. She was born May 11, 1925, in Clark County, Springfield, Ohio, to Allen and Mabel Tuttle Craig. She graduated from Plattsburg High School in Springfield in 1943.
Anna Lou and Roger T. Rebert were married July 25, 1942, in Greenup, Kentucky, before his deployment to Europe during World War II. They celebrated 73 years of marriage before his passing Oct. 22, 2015. Anna Lou and Roger raised three children in a loving home.
Anna Lou and Roger Rebert began their life together in Springfield and then moved to Cape Girardeau and later to Carthage. She was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Carthage and a former member of First Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau. She also attended First Methodist Church of Carthage. Anna Lou belonged to and enjoyed flower clubs in Springfield and Cape Girardeau. She also performed volunteer work for hospitals in Cape Girardeau and Carthage.
Anna Lou is survived by two daughters, Connie (David) Bush of Carthage and Sylvia Rebert of Jackson; a son, Tom (Janis) Rebert of Cape Girardeau; grandchildren, Cody Bush of Carthage, Staci (Dane) Baker of Cape Girardeau and Austin (Kristina) LeGrand of Jackson; grandson-in-law Brad Peterson of Carthage; great-grandchildren, Lindsay and Aubrey Baker and Alyssa LeGrand; and numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; grandchildren Jackie Bush Peterson and James Shannon Bush; a brother, Allen Eric Craig; and a sister, Kathleen Haley.
Serving as pallbearers will be Billy Bush, David Bush, Cody Bush, Brad Peterson, Pat Garrett and Grady Wedgeworth.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Six Mile Cemetery, 862 CR 103, Carthage, Texas 75633.
