COLLINSVILLE, Ill. -- Anna Marie Layton Lawrence, 69, of Collinsville, Ill., died Monday, Aug. 6, 2007, at St. Mary's Hospital in St. Louis. COLLINSVILLE, Ill. -- Anna Marie Layton Lawrence, 69, of Collinsville, Ill., died Monday, Aug. 6, 2007, at St. Mary's Hospital in St. Louis.

She was born Dec. 25, 1937, in Boulder, Colo., daughter of Julius F. and Flossie Belle Mock Layton. She married William H. Lawrence, who preceded her in death.

Anna retired as a claims adjuster with Blue Cross Blue Shield. She was active in the Jaycees and Evening Lions Club in Collinsville.

Survivors include two sons, Guy (Nichole) Lawrence of Jackson, Darryl (Chrissy) Lawrence of Edwardsville, Ill.; two brothers, Lee Layton of Gulfport, Miss., Howard Layton of Westminster, Colo.; a sister, Laura Dinkel of Evans, Colo.; her fiance, Paul Babb of Collinsville; and a special niece, Mary Thornton of Evans.

Also six grandchildren, Kayla and Amanda Lawrence, Devin Winter, Zachary, Chase and Emily Lawrence; Paul's children, Paul Jeffrey (Noriko) Babb of San Diego, Julia (Mollie O'Connor) Babb of Minneapolis, and Holly Melissa (Robert) Babb-Berthold of St. Louis.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Herr Funeral Home in Collinsville.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Roger Wright officiating. A committal service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Jefferson Barracks Cemetery in St. Louis.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association and the American Diabetes Association.
