SIKESTON, Mo. — Anna Korologos, 83, passed away with peace Sunday, May 5, 2019, with her family at her side. Anna, a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother was predeceased by her former spouse, Thomas Korologos, and two infant children, Efstathios and Efstathia Korologos. She is survived by daughters Athena Zorbas and Patty (Bob) Katsantonis, and former son-in-law Tom Zorbas, all of Sikeston. Anna was Yiayia (grandmother) to: Angela (Jimmy) Angeletopoulos, George (Ciera) Katsantonis and Tommy (Michaela) Katsantonis, Anna (Spiros) Nikopoulos, Patty (Charlie) Ferssizidis, and Roula (Eric) Woodward. Yiayia Anna was blessed to be a part of the lives of her 11 great-grandchildren: Mina, Tommy, and George Angeletopoulos, Bob and Alex Katsantonis, Athena Nikopoulos, Bobby, Sia, and Alex Ferssizidis, and Nayia and Ava Woodward. She is also survived by two sisters, Vivian Antonakis and Angie Chresos; brother-in-law, John Korologos; her godson, Nick Furris; and many nieces and nephews. Anna was born in Kastorion, Greece, in 1936, emigrated to the United States at the age of 13, and lived most of her adult life in New Jersey and New York. She devoted her life to helping to raise and support her family, instilling in them a zest for life. With a generous and encompassing heart, and a kitchen that never closed, she nourished those around her. Anna was a strong woman with a playful spirit who always made people around her laugh. Ahead of her time, she paved her own path through life and inspired those around her to do the same. Anna will always be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother with a special ability to touch the lives of those around her. She was immensely proud of her family and leaves us rich in memories. The family will greet guests from 1 to 2 p.m., Wednesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home, 1001 N. Mt. Auburn Rd, Cape Girardeau, Missouri 63701. A service to celebrate Anna’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery. The family will greet guests from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home, 1001 N. Mount Auburn Road, Cape Girardeau, Missouri 63701.

A service to celebrate Anna’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
