CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Anna Mae Halter, 74, of Chaffee died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2004, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born July 19, 1929, at Chaffee, daughter of Levi Andrew and Nettie Thresa Schwepker Miller. She and Clarence Halter were married Oct. 19, 1954.
Halter owned and operated Chaffee Dairy Queen from 1978 until retiring in 1997. She was a member of St. Ann Sodality, VFW Auxiliary 3127 in Chaffee, and Knights of Columbus Auxiliary 11205 in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Mike Halter of Cape Girardeau, Clem Halter of Oriole; three daughters, Linda Yarbro and Laura Estes of Chaffee, Pat Halter of St. Louis; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, and a sister.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee after 4 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be at 7 and Knights of Columbus and Auxiliary prayers at 7:15.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in New Hamburg, Mo. The Revs. Normand Varone and Ralph Duffner will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
