Anna Mae Bullard, 88, peacefully entered eternal glory Sunday, Dec. 3, 2017, at the home of her son and grandson in Jackson, where she had resided for several years.
She was born July 28, 1929, at Neelys Landing to Fred and Lucille Hitchcock Medlock. She attended school at Oak Hill near Pocahontas and Jackson Senior High School in Jackson. She and Troy Martin Bullard were married June 14, 1947, in Piggott, Arkansas. He preceded her in death Feb. 25, 1975.
Anna worked for Mattie Hines at the Neelys Landing Post Office and Grocery Store before going to International Shoe Co., where she was employed for several years. On July 28, 1989, she retired from Procter & Gamble after 17 years of service.
She was a lifelong member of New Bethel Baptist Church near Pocahontas, where she faithfully served as a Sunday-school teacher, taught Bible school, led the GAs and participated in the WMU and Missions.
Anna is survived by two sons, Joseph Martin Bullard and Kenneth Ray Bullard, both of Jackson; one brother, the Rev. Robert Medlock of Sikeston, Missouri; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Mary Lucille and Peggy Ann; and a sister, Laura Etta Craft.
The visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at New Bethel Baptist Church.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Jacob Colwell officiating, assisted by the Rev. Elijah Allen. Burial will be in New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
