CAIRO, Ill. -- Anna Belle Williams, 111, of Cairo, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 1993, at Daystar Care Center. She was believed to be the oldest living resident of Cairo. CAIRO, Ill. -- Anna Belle Williams, 111, of Cairo, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 1993, at Daystar Care Center. She was believed to be the oldest living resident of Cairo.

She was born Nov. 20, 1882, in Dalton City, daughter of Peter and Marie Jimison Ground. She married Dr. George Williams, who preceded her in death.

Williams was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Cairo Women's Club, and had been a hostess many years during the holiday tour at Magnolia Manor.

Survivors include a son, Dr. Robert Williams of Cairo; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons.

Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick's Church. The Rev. Jerome Fortenberry will officiate, with burial in Cairo City Cemetery at Villa Ridge.

There is no visitation.

Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo is in charge of arrangements.
