Ann Ione Dunn, 75, 3120 Independence, died Thursday, May 16, 1991, at her home.
She was born Dec. 21, 1915, at Illmo, daughter of B. Hugh and Bess Burris Smith. She married Ernest C. Dunn Dec. 21, 1945, in Cape Girardeau. He died May 3, 1969.
Dunn was a graduate of Central High School, received a bachelor's degree in education from Southeast Missouri State University, and did graduate work at the University of Wisconsin at Madison.
She was a high school teacher several years at Anniston and Poplar Bluff. She and her husband also owned and operated Dunn Hotels in Poplar Bluff and Sikeston, the latter of which is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Dunn moved to Cape Girardeau in 1977 from Poplar Bluff. She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church here, and the Monday Club and PEO Chapter DG at Poplar Bluff.
Survivors include two sisters, Inez Smith and Mrs. Herbert S. Wright; a niece, Mrs. B. Ray Owen, and a great-nephew, Stephen Owen, all of Cape Girardeau.
Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Poplar Bluff, with the Rev. David Stewart officiating.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Monday.
