MARBLE HILL -- Anita Lavern Hovis, 74, of Marble Hill died Friday, March 26, 1999, at her home.
She was born April 1, 1924, at Grassy, daughter of Jeff and Lucy Evans Robbins.
On May 31, 1946, she married Francis Fritz Johno. He died Sept. 7, 1984.
On Oct. 1, 1990, she married the Rev. Charley Hovis at Piggott, Ark. He survives.
She is also survived by six stepdaughters, Deanna Regot of Middleton, Mary Sullivan and Cindy Bryan, both of St. Charles, Inita Hovis of Wood Mills, Nina Morris of Gravois Mills and Effie Masters of Marble Hill; two stepsons, Dan Hovis of Marble Hill and Curtis Hovis of St. Louis; two brothers, Lonnie Robbins of St. Clair and Harold Robbins of Leopold; three sisters, Ruby Pruett of Mesa, Ariz., Ruth Militti of Marble Hill and Lana Dorlaque of St. Johns; a host of nieces and nephews; 10 step-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Community Church in Marble Hill. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel, with Sister Diana Cook, the Rev. Amos Coffey and the Rev. Gene Robbins officiating. Burial will be in Grassy Cemetery.
