SCOTT CITY -- Anita Helen Hilpert, 89, of Scott City died Wednesday, March 24, 1999, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. She was born May 9, 1909, at Fornfelt, daughter of Emil and Meta Westerhold Eifert. She and John William Hilpert Sr. were married Aug. 4, 1935, at Illmo. He died July 19, 1988...

SCOTT CITY -- Anita Helen Hilpert, 89, of Scott City died Wednesday, March 24, 1999, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born May 9, 1909, at Fornfelt, daughter of Emil and Meta Westerhold Eifert. She and John William Hilpert Sr. were married Aug. 4, 1935, at Illmo. He died July 19, 1988.

Hilpert had been a telephone operator with Southwestern Bell. She was a member of Eisleben Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aide, and member of the Lutheran Home Auxiliary.

Survivors include a son, John Hilpert Jr. of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Marilyn Boehme of Poplar Bluff, Rosalie Potts of Independence; a brother, Calvin Eifert of Scott City; a sister, Lillian Basile of Scott City; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, a sister, and a grandchild.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City after 4 p.m. today, and Saturday at Eisleben Church from 9 a.m. until service time. A prayer service will be held at 7 tonight.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Joel Sarrault officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
