Anita E. Haertling, 85, of Jackson passed away May 5, 2005, at the Jackson Manor Nursing Home. She was born Dec. 13, 1919, in New Wells, daughter of August and Ella Koenig Leimbach. She and Albert H. Haertling were married July 28, 1940. He passed away Aug. 24, 1987...

Anita E. Haertling, 85, of Jackson passed away May 5, 2005, at the Jackson Manor Nursing Home.

She was born Dec. 13, 1919, in New Wells, daughter of August and Ella Koenig Leimbach. She and Albert H. Haertling were married July 28, 1940. He passed away Aug. 24, 1987.

Residents of New Wells, Anita and Albert were members of Immanuel Lutheran Chuch many years. In 1983, they moved to Jackson and became members of St. Paul Lutheran Church. Anita was a member of the Ladies Aid at both churches and the Joy Group at St. Paul. She also enjoyed volunteering at the Lutheran Home.

Loving survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Ethel and John Priest and Lavanda and Harlan Perr, all of Jackson; eight grandchildren, Jeff and wife Susan Haertling, Duane and wife Kristy Haertling, Teresa Francis, Michelle and husband Rick Doughten, Denise and husband Tim Bailey, Kris and husband Kevin Coe, Kim Perr, Travis and wife Kristin Perr; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Wesley Haertling; an infant son; a brother, Milton Leimbach; two sisters, Vaiden Weber and Lavern Meisner.

Friends may call Monday, May 9, from 4 to 8 p.m. at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, May 10, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, with Rev. David Johnson officiating.

Interment will follow in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in New Wells.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Paul Lutheran Church or the church or charity of your choice.
