CAIRO, Ill. -- Anita Beno, 83, of Cairo died Saturday, July 10, 2004, at Daystar Care Center in Cairo. She was born Oct. 28, 1919, in Cairo, daughter of Carol and Mary Pearl Allen Stewart. She was married to John Ed Beno, who died in 1998. Beno was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Cairo, the St. Patrick's Church Altar Guild, the Daughters of Isabella, and the VFW and American Legion ladies auxiliaries...

CAIRO, Ill. -- Anita Beno, 83, of Cairo died Saturday, July 10, 2004, at Daystar Care Center in Cairo.

She was born Oct. 28, 1919, in Cairo, daughter of Carol and Mary Pearl Allen Stewart. She was married to John Ed Beno, who died in 1998.

Beno was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Cairo, the St. Patrick's Church Altar Guild, the Daughters of Isabella, and the VFW and American Legion ladies auxiliaries.

Survivors include three nephews, John Moore of Baton Rouge, La., Kevin Allbritten of Roswell, Ga., David Moore of Rolla, Mo.; three nieces, Paula Zilicki of Baton Rouge, Debbie and Sandra Beno, both of California.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Friend may call from 9 to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday at Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Cairo, with the Rev. Jerome Fortenberry officiating. Burial will be in Mound City National Cemetery.
